Proposal Engagement 3D Chocolate Box

Today I'm going to walk you through the steps of making your very own 3D Chocolate box.
Super easy, super fun, super YUMMY!

Give it to your valentine, your love, or your kids for valentines day! Don't bother buying tons of chocolate or candies and DIY your valentines.

For this you will need:
  •  3D chocolate box mold, unless you're really good at making molds out of your bare hands...you will need a mold.  Sold by City Chocolates HERE: 3D CHOCOLATE MOLD

  • Either regular chocolate confectionary coatings found at Walmart or Wilton sells bags as well. I used a Walmart brand.  The contrasting bow color I used Melt and Fill Red Tube: Found Here: Melt & FILL  (These are super easy to use and you just squeeze it into the mold. Great for accents, font for cakes, decorations for cakes)

  • You could also use Candy Writers, these have less chocolate but they work as well for 2 different colors in your mold. Found HERE: Candy Writers

  • I used a chocolate melter in red above but you could also just melt your chocolate in the microwave, or temper your homemade chocolate. Either way it's all yummy, but the melter in the tube is so much easier for these types of molds with a bow accent.

  • Also for the Melt & Fill I used the CK Decorative tips, which made it easier to squeeze into the mold. FOUND HERE : Decorative Tips  (I'm pretty sure you could use the tips you get from Walmart as well, but these are high quality)
LETS GET STARTED!

First: You will fill in the red color into the bow and tap to set your chocolate in the mold.  Then with your other chocolate after it's melted or microwaved fill the box part. Try not to over fill this part it will be hard to get out without coaxing. Then refrigerate about 5-10 minutes.

You just want to refrigerate long enough for the red bow to harden. The box can take longer once you fill the chocolate on the top part of the box.

After the 5-10 minutes of refrigeration you can fill the top part of the box. Here I put too much chocolate and had to scrape off the excess. It still came out great and was easy to scrape.

Refrigerate another 10-15 minutes to ensure the entire box is firm.
And release each side.
I did use a butter knife for the bottom part of the box because I overfilled but it came out.

DIY Valentines Cookies and Chocolate Lips By: City Chocolates

These cookies are so simple and easy and if you haven't used chocolate molds or sandwich molds before this is a simple how to step by step of how you can make your own for Valentines day or to show that special someone in your life how much you love them.

What you'll need:
  • Candy Melts or Confectioner coatings, or almond bark
  • The Chocolate molds used: City Chocolates Love Sandwich Mold  City Chocolates Kiss Mold
  • Something to melt your chocolate in, microwave safe bowls or a chocolate melter.
  • Some type of cookie for the center. I used off brand Oreo's.
  • toothpicks or wilton brushes to put the contrasting color detail in the mold

First you will melt your chocolate. I put the Almond bark in a chocolate melter and melted my contrasting colors first.

Next use a wilton brush or a toothpick and brush on your first color into the letters. As your filling the letters with color shake and tap your mold onto the table to help the chocolate set into the mold.

I used pink for the letters and the red for the heart.

I also drizzled some red and pink to add more contrasting color.
Next you will add a scoop of white chocolate into each cup and shake and tap the mold. Not too much because you want to add your cookie next.
Place your cookie into the each cup, then fill with the white chocolate shake and tap at the end for the chocolate to settle into the mold.

Place in the refrigerator to harden at least 10-15 minutes. Feel the bottom of the mold. You will know when it is ready when it isn't warm and it is cool to the touch.

For the lips mold it's basically the same steps. Fill with chocolate, shake and tap to set the chocolate and then place in the refrigerator. These will probably take less time to cool.  The lips didn't look that great with contrasting colors so I would suggest a solid color or a better job at contrasting them.

When the molds are cooled and ready they should pop right out when upside down and a little finger pressure.   Next enjoy your chocolates! If you'd like to see a video of this process find it HERE.
